❖I first discovered My Funny Demon Valentine while browsing Kindle Unlimited, and I’m so glad I decided to give it a chance. What started as an interesting paranormal romance turned into one of my favorite reads and introduced me to four demons I couldn’t help getting attached to.
One of the things I loved most was Aurora’s approach to demons. In this world, demons are soulless creatures created for evil. Ash, Bel, Meph, and Raum are different because they’ve somehow developed souls, giving them emotions, consciences, and the ability to make their own choices. They’re still dangerous and morally questionable, but they’re also capable of love, loyalty, and genuine friendship. I found that concept fascinating.
Ash and Eva’s relationship was another highlight. Ash is a powerful demon living under a curse that makes him appear undesirable to women, so he’s understandably surprised when Eva sees him differently. I loved their chemistry, but what made their relationship special to me was their shared passion for music. It gave them a genuine emotional connection beyond their physical attraction.
Eva was exactly the kind of heroine I enjoy. She’s intelligent, independent, and isn’t afraid to question Ash or stand up for herself. Even when his protective instincts take over, she refuses to let him make all her decisions. I appreciated that their relationship allowed both characters to be vulnerable without making Eva helpless or taking away Ash’s darker nature.
The supporting characters were just as entertaining. Bel, Meph, and Raum each have distinct personalities, and their constant bickering, humor, and loyalty made them feel like a dysfunctional found family. I loved their interactions and how much they genuinely cared about one another despite being demons. Thelonious was another entertaining addition.
There’s also plenty happening outside the romance. The curses, Hellgates, angels, gargoyles, Grigori, and the consequences of escaping Hell create an interesting supernatural world. I enjoyed how Aurora introduced these elements throughout the story without overwhelming the reader. The mystery surrounding Eva added another layer of intrigue, and the combination of danger, action, humor, and romance kept me invested.
The humor was especially well done. I laughed throughout the book, particularly during the interactions between the four demons. Their personalities and relationships made the funny moments feel natural without taking away from the more serious conflicts.
I also appreciated that the spice didn’t overshadow the storyline. Ash and Eva have plenty of chemistry, and their intimate scenes are explicit, but their relationship develops emotionally as well. There was enough mystery, character development, and supernatural conflict to keep the story interesting beyond the romance.
By the time I finished, I was completely invested in Ash, Eva, and their unusual found family. I enjoyed their story so much that I purchased the Kindle edition and ordered a signed paperback directly from Aurora’s website. This one earned a place on my trophy shelf, and I couldn’t wait to continue the Hell Bent series to learn more about Bel, Meph, and Raum.
Would I recommend My Funny Demon Valentine? Absolutely! If you enjoy paranormal romance, morally gray demons, protective love interests, strong independent heroines, found family, supernatural mysteries, humor, and plenty of spice, I highly recommend this one.
My Final Verdict: An easy five-star read for me. I loved the characters, the chemistry between Ash and Eva, the humor, and Aurora’s approach to demons developing souls without losing their darker nature. The supernatural world was interesting, the pacing kept me engaged, and the supporting characters left me wanting more. I genuinely enjoyed everything this book had to offer, and it sent me straight into the rest of the series. I’m especially looking forward to Bel’s story!
