MY APPROACH TO YOUR PRIVACY:
Let me make one thing clear from the beginning: I do not collect your personal information for the purpose of selling it, renting it, trading it, giving it away, or providing it to anyone else for their own marketing or commercial use. I do not sell your personal information. Period.
If SassyReviews.com asks you for information, there is a reason for it. I may need your email address to create your account or respond to a message. I may need shipping information because you purchased something that actually has to find its way to your house. If you are an author, publisher, publicist, or authorized representative submitting an ARC, I need enough information to evaluate the review request and communicate with you. The information collected depends on what you choose to do on the website.
Certain information may necessarily be processed by the trusted services that make those features possible, such as WordPress, WooCommerce, WooPayments, website hosting, security services, or other service providers necessary to operate SassyReviews.com. That is very different from collecting your information so I can hand it over to somebody else. These services may process information only as necessary to provide their respective functions and according to their own privacy practices.
Simply put, I collect only the information reasonably necessary to operate SassyReviews.com and provide the features you choose to use. I do not collect your information to turn around and make money from it.
You trusted Sassy Reviews with your information for a particular reason, and I believe it should stay connected to that reason. Your email address is not a product. I only ask for information that is reasonably related to the feature or service you are choosing to use. I have absolutely no interest in collecting personal information simply for the sake of having it.
USER ACCOUNTS:
Anyone who is at least 18 years old may create an account on SassyReviews.com. Accounts may be used to make purchases through the shop, participate in the community forum, leave comments on reviews and other posts, and access other registered-user features that may become available.
When you create an account, information such as your username, display name, email address, password credentials, profile information, and account activity may be collected or processed as necessary to create, secure, and maintain your account.
Passwords are handled through the website’s account system and should always be kept confidential. You are responsible for protecting your login information and should contact Sassy Reviews if you believe someone has gained unauthorized access to your account.
COMMENTS & COMMUNITY FORUM:
Sassy Reviews includes community features because half the fun of reading a book is finding somebody else who understands exactly why you are still emotionally recovering from it.
Registered users may leave comments on reviews and other eligible posts and participate in discussions within the Sassy Reviews community forum. When you submit a comment or forum post, your username or display name and the content you choose to publish may become publicly visible.
Technical information associated with your submission, such as an IP address or browser information, may also be processed for purposes such as spam prevention, moderation, website security, and protecting the community from abuse.
Please remember that anything you voluntarily post in a public area of SassyReviews.com should be considered public information. Do not post your home address, phone number, financial information, passwords, or other sensitive personal information in a comment or forum discussion. We are here to overshare about fictional people—not hand the internet our banking information.
ARC REVIEW REQUESTS & SUBMITTED BOOKS:
Authors, publishers, publicists, and authorized representatives may submit Advance Reader Copies (ARCs) to Sassy Reviews for consideration for review. The ARC submission system on SassyReviews.com exists solely for submitting books to me for review. Sassy Reviews does not use this system to recruit ARC readers, distribute ARCs to other reviewers, or operate an ARC reader program.
When submitting an ARC for consideration, you may be asked to provide information such as your name, author or publisher name, email address, book title, genre, synopsis, publication or expected publication date, content or trigger warnings, relevant book or author links, and other information reasonably necessary for me to evaluate the book and determine whether it is a good fit for Sassy Reviews.
ARCs may be submitted as physical books or electronically in PDF or EPUB format. Information provided with an ARC submission will be used to evaluate and manage the request, communicate with the person submitting it, receive or access the ARC, maintain appropriate review records, and prepare or publish a review if the book is accepted.
Submitting an ARC does not guarantee that I will accept or review it, and providing an ARC does not guarantee a positive review or particular rating.
Any physical or electronic ARC provided to Sassy Reviews is supplied solely for the purpose of allowing me to read the book and prepare my review. I will never intentionally sell, redistribute, reproduce, upload, publish, forward, lend, give away, or otherwise provide an ARC, unpublished manuscript, PDF, EPUB file, or its contents to another person or unauthorized third party.
Electronic files submitted through SassyReviews.com may necessarily be transmitted, processed, or stored through the website’s hosting, WordPress environment, storage systems, security services, or other technology providers required to receive and maintain the submission. This technical processing is different from redistributing an ARC to another reader and is limited to what is reasonably necessary to operate and secure the website and receive the material you submitted.
Physical ARCs will remain in my possession and will not be sold, donated, given away, or redistributed.
I will also respect legitimate publication embargoes and confidential or unreleased information provided with an ARC. Unpublished material will not intentionally be disclosed before its authorized release unless the author, publisher, or authorized representative has given me permission to use that information.
There is an important distinction between the ARC entrusted to me and the review I create after reading it. Your ARC remains private. My review is my own original commentary. As explained in my ARC Disclosure, I reserve the right to publish or cross-post my honest review on SassyReviews.com and/or other review and retail platforms where I maintain a reviewer presence, including Goodreads and Amazon, subject to the policies of those platforms.
You are trusting me to read and review your ARC—not redistribute it. I take that distinction, and that trust, seriously.
EMAIL SUBSCRIPTIONS & COMMUNICATIONS:
If you voluntarily subscribe to emails from Sassy Reviews, your email address and related subscription information may be collected and used to send the communications you requested.
You may unsubscribe from promotional or subscription emails using the unsubscribe option included in those communications when available. Certain administrative or transactional messages related to your account, purchases, security, ARC submission, or another service you requested may still be sent when necessary.
I will not sell, rent, trade, or give your email address to another company for its own marketing purposes. We all receive enough unwanted email without me volunteering your inbox for more.
CONTACT FORMS:
When you contact Sassy Reviews through a contact form, you may provide information such as your name, email address, subject, and message. That information will be used to review and respond to your inquiry, provide requested assistance, maintain appropriate records, and protect the website from spam or abuse.
