The Collector’s Edition of Caught Up, also called the After Dark Edition, is scheduled to release October 13, 2026, and they definitely didn’t just slap a different cover on it and call it special. This hardcover is getting foil stamping, metallic sprayed edges, illustrated endpapers, a letter from Navessa Allen, and, because she apparently knows exactly what we need to click that preorder button, an exclusive bonus chapter. Although, if I’m being honest, she had me at Collector’s Edition. The bonus chapter was just the cherry on top of my sundae.
And really, was there ever any question about whether I was going to preorder this one? Caught Up is Book 2 in Navessa Allen’s Into Darkness series, following Lights Out—the very book my daughter Sam corrupted me with and introduced me to the wonderfully unhinged world of Josh and Aly. I loved Lights Out enough to buy the Collector’s Edition, so when I saw Caught Up was getting one too, I didn’t even bother pretending I was going to show restraint.
This time, the story follows Nico “Junior” Trocci and Lauren Marchetti, taking us back into the darker side of the Into Darkness world with organized crime, obsession, danger, and a relationship that comes with more than a few complications. Navessa has already proven she can create characters who make me question every standard I thought I had, throw them into completely unhinged situations, and somehow have me sitting over here rooting for them. After Josh, I should probably know better by now. I don’t. 😂
So yes, Caught Up: Collector’s Edition is officially joining my shelves when it releases October 13. Assuming I still have shelves by October. At the rate I’m going, I may need to stop budgeting for more bookshelves and start budgeting for an addition to the house. As always with special and Collector’s Editions, availability and pricing can change between now and release day, so I wouldn’t rely too heavily on my favorite book-buying strategy of “I’ll remember to order it later.” We all know how well that usually works out. 😂
