Inked Beasts

Inked Beasts gave me exactly the kind of why-choose romance I love: three tattooed, protective men, a strong-willed heroine, childhood friendships, and a found-family connection that made the romance feel like more than just physical attraction. I especially liked that these four characters already had a history together, giving their relationships a foundation before the romance even began.

Lexy returns to Las Vegas for her father’s wedding and reconnects with Kai, Gage, and Thorn, the three boys she grew up with. Fifteen years have passed, and those boys have grown into men who are no longer interested in being just friends. I liked watching Lexy rediscover the people she once considered family while questioning whether the carefully planned life she’s built is actually the future she wants.

One of the things that worked particularly well for me was how different Kai, Gage, and Thorn were from one another. Kai is passionate, impulsive, and intense. Gage is calmer, more grounded, and brings a quieter confidence to the relationship. Thorn has a playful personality and adds plenty of humor. Each man has his own connection with Lexy, and I appreciated that none of them felt interchangeable.

The found-family aspect was one of my favorite parts of the story. These aren’t three strangers competing for the same woman. Kai, Gage, and Thorn already share a strong bond, and Lexy was once an important part of their lives. Watching the four of them reconnect and figure out what their relationship could become as adults gave the romance more meaning.

I also liked getting all four perspectives. Seeing what Kai, Gage, and Thorn were thinking helped establish their individual personalities and made it clear how serious they were about Lexy. It was especially entertaining watching the men embrace the idea of a future together while Lexy was still trying to decide whether a relationship with all three of them was even possible.

The chemistry was great, and there’s plenty of spice, earning this one four peppers. What I appreciated was that the intimate scenes didn’t take over the entire story. We still got to see the characters reconnecting, spending time together, dealing with their families and careers, and building relationships outside the bedroom. That’s the balance I look for in a spicy romance.

My biggest issue was Lexy’s repeated uncertainty about whether their relationship could work. I understood her concerns about their families, careers, and how other people might react, especially since this wasn’t the future she’d planned for herself. However, after a while, those worries became repetitive. I wanted to see less time spent questioning the relationship and more time figuring out how they could make it work.

I also would have liked more emotional depth surrounding their childhood and the fifteen years they spent apart. There was so much history between these four characters, and I felt the story could have explored those experiences and their emotional connections more thoroughly. I believed in their relationship, but a little more development in those areas would have made it even stronger.

The supporting characters and family dynamics were another nice addition. They helped establish the larger world of the Sin City Beasts series, and a few characters left me curious about whose story might come next.

Would I recommend Inked Beasts? Absolutely! If you love why-choose romance, childhood friends-to-lovers, protective and possessive men, tattooed MMCs, found family, multiple perspectives, and plenty of spice, this one is worth adding to your TBR.

My Final Verdict: Inked Beasts delivered a spicy why-choose romance with distinct love interests, strong chemistry, and a meaningful found-family connection. I loved the history between Lexy, Kai, Gage, and Thorn, and I appreciated that their relationships developed beyond physical attraction. What kept it from five stars was the repetition surrounding Lexy’s uncertainty and my wanting more emotional depth exploring their shared past. Even so, I was invested in all four characters and look forward to seeing where the series goes next.
