Around here, we believe good behavior is nice and all…but tiny dragons are better. 😂 As you build your profile, read books, join discussions, make recommendations, survive emotional devastation, develop suspiciously detailed theories, play games, support the Nook, and generally contribute to our particular brand of bookish chaos, you’ll have opportunities to collect dragons for your profile.
Some badges are automatically awarded, some recognize specific accomplishments, some have to be earned through consistent participation, and a few are reserved for particular roles within Sassy’s Nook. Once you earn a permanent badge, it stays in your dragon hoard. Monthly awards work a little differently: each month has its own dated version, so Hottest Poster — August 2026 remains part of your collection while September begins a brand-new competition for Hottest Poster — September 2026.
And when we say active, we mean meaningfully active. One or two posts won’t earn an activity badge, and neither will spending the last night of the month dropping “OMG SAME!” under everything in sight. 😂 We’re looking for genuine conversations, thoughtful participation, interaction with other Bookdragons, and activity throughout the month.
How to Earn Your Dragons…
🐣 Freshly Hatched — Welcome to the Nook
Every Bookdragon has to hatch sometime. Freshly Hatched is automatically awarded when you first become a member of Sassy’s Nook. Welcome, little hatchling. Don’t worry—we’ll have that TBR completely out of control soon enough. 😂
🐉 BookDragon — Build Your Hoard
Once you’ve hatched, it’s time to start building your book hoard. Add at least five books to your member profile and you’ll earn your Member dragon. Five books may seem reasonable now. We’ll revisit that statement after you’ve been hanging around us for a while. 😂
👑 Queen of Chaos — Owner/Creator
There is only one Queen of Chaos, and apparently I’m the woman who decided building an entire kingdom of dragons, books, badges, games, discussions, giveaways, authors, and emotional damage sounded like a perfectly reasonable hobby. 😂 This badge is reserved for the owner and creator of Sassy’s Nook and cannot be earned.
💜 Keeper of the Chaos — Moderator
Moderators are the brave souls entrusted with helping keep Sassy’s Nook welcoming, organized, fun, and only reasonably unhinged. They help members, oversee discussions, assist with activities, and protect our most important rule: You can hate the book. You cannot hate each other. Moderator badges are awarded only to members personally selected to serve on the Nook moderation team.
🐲 Chaos Weaver — Author
This badge identifies verified authors participating in Sassy’s Nook. These are the people responsible for our fictional obsessions, impossible book-boyfriend standards, sleepless nights, cliffhangers, emotional trauma, and approximately 87% of the yelling that happens around here. Frankly, they should be identifiable for public safety. 😂
🌟 Spotlighted Author — Straight From the Source
Reserved for authors who have participated in an official Sassy Reviews Author Spotlight and let us poke around inside the wonderfully chaotic mind responsible for their books. Once an author has been officially spotlighted, this badge becomes a permanent part of their collection.
💗 Supporting Member — Supporting the Chaos
This badge is our little thank-you to members who have supported Sassy Reviews and Sassy’s Nook by purchasing something from the Sassy Reviews merch store. Whether it’s a shirt, mug, bookish goodie, or another piece of Nook chaos, your purchase helps support what we’re building here, and we appreciate the hell out of you for it. Once you make a qualifying merch purchase, your Support dragon is yours to keep.
❤️🔥 ARC Warrior — Read • Review • Repeat
When an author posts in Sassy’s Nook looking for ARC readers, members are welcome to throw their hats into the ring. If you respond to the author’s ARC call and are officially selected or accepted onto their ARC team, send us a screenshot showing your acceptance and you’ll earn the ARC Warrior badge. Please crop or cover any personal information—we only need enough to verify that you were accepted. Once verified, you’ve earned your dragon. Now go read before release day comes charging at you. 😂
📖 Book Club — Read • Discuss • Survive Together
Participate in an official Sassy’s Nook Book Club selection and its discussions to earn your Book Club badge. This one requires actually joining us for the reading experience—not simply adding the monthly selection to your TBR and allowing it to stare accusingly at you from your Kindle library. 😂
💙 Emotional Damage Survivor— I Felt Everything
Some books entertain us. Others rip out our hearts, stomp on them, hand them back, and somehow still get five stars. Emotional Damage is earned through qualifying Trauma & Emotional Damage discussions, challenges, and activities. Tell us about the fictional moments that wrecked you and actually join the conversation with your fellow emotionally compromised Bookdragons.
☠️ DNF Survivor — Thrown Into the Abyss
Sometimes finishing the book is an accomplishment. Sometimes knowing when to throw the damn thing into the Abyss is one too. 😂 To earn DNF Survivor, tell us which book you DNF’d, how far you made it, and why you stopped reading. Was it the pacing? Characters? Repetition? Too much spice and not enough plot? Did the story simply lose you? We want to hear about your actual reading experience—not just the title followed by “DNF.” And remember: criticize the book, not the author or the readers who loved it. One Bookdragon’s Abyss is another Bookdragon’s five-star obsession.
💚 TBR Destroyer — Making Progress…Allegedly
For Bookdragons actually doing something about that terrifying mountain of books they swear they’re eventually going to read. 😂 TBR Destroyer is awarded for completing designated Sassy’s Nook reading challenges or qualifying reading milestones.
😈 TBR Enabler — It’s My Fault
You recommended a book. Another Bookdragon saw your recommendation. They actually bought it. Congratulations—you are officially a financial threat to the community. 😂 The TBR Enabler badge requires evidence that your recommendation directly resulted in another member purchasing the book. There should be a visible interaction connecting your recommendation to their purchase. If necessary, we may ask the purchasing member whether they’re comfortable providing proof showing the book and approximate purchase date. Personal, account, address, order, and payment information should always be covered. We only need enough to connect recommendation → discovery → purchase. Adding something to somebody’s TBR is amateur hour. Convincing them to spend money is professional enabling. 😈📚
💬 Chatterbox — Keeps the Conversation Going
Starting a discussion is easy. Keeping people talking is another matter. Chatter Dragon recognizes a member who consistently participates in conversations, responds thoughtfully to other Bookdragons, and helps keep discussions alive throughout the month. This isn’t earned through one busy afternoon. We’re looking for genuine, ongoing conversation.
💗 Nook’s Lil’ Sweetheart — Makes the Nook Better
Some Bookdragons simply make a community nicer by being part of it. Nook Sweetheart recognizes someone who consistently brings kindness, encouragement, friendliness, and good energy to Sassy’s Nook. Sassy and the moderators select a member who has gone out of their way to welcome, encourage, or support other Bookdragons.
🏆 Chaos Champion — Member of the Month
Hottest Poster recognizes activity; Chaos Champion recognizes impact. This award goes to a Bookdragon who truly helped make the Nook better during that month through consistent participation, great conversations, welcoming new members, helping others, joining activities, making people laugh, or simply bringing the kind of energy we want in our community. Sassy and the moderators choose the recipient, and each Chaos Champion badge is dated for the month and year it was earned.
🔮 Theory Master — I Connected the Clues
Theory Master belongs to the Bookdragons who actually do the detective work. Read the existing book or books in a series, find the clues, foreshadowing, suspicious behavior, hidden connections, prophecies, Easter eggs, or other evidence and build an original theory about what you believe is coming in the next book.
You cannot simply announce, “Mr. Green killed Professor Plum with the candlestick,” and disappear into the night. 😂 Tell us why. Show us the clues. Explain how your reader brain traveled from Point A to completely unhinged Point Z. Your theory does not have to eventually be correct to earn Theory Master—the badge recognizes a thoughtful, original, well-supported theory.
Two Bookdragons cannot earn Theory Master for essentially the exact same theory. If duplicate theories are posted, the oldest qualifying post receives the badge. Similar conclusions can still qualify when the reasoning, evidence, or actual theory is meaningfully different.
🌌 Prediction Master — I Nailed It!
Prediction Master is the next level, and you cannot earn Prediction Master unless you first earned Theory Master for that specific theory. This is not a lucky-guess badge.
When the next book is released, we go back to qualifying Theory Master posts. If the new book confirms that your documented theory was actually correct, congratulations—you officially nailed it and earn Prediction Master.
Because the original Theory Master post establishes ownership of the theory, the same timestamp rule applies. No copying someone else’s theory, no posting the same prediction later, and absolutely no sneaking back to edit an old post after release day. We keep receipts around here. 👀😂
⚡ Plot Twist Survivor — WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED?!
For surviving the reveal that made you close the book—or Kindle—stare into the distance, and question everything you thought you understood for the previous 300 pages. Plot Twist Survivor can be earned through designated Plot Twists & Cliffhangers discussions, challenges, and special events. Tell us about the moments that completely blindsided you and join your fellow Bookdragons in collectively yelling, “WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED?!”
🎲 Game Menace — Plays • Wins • Causes Chaos
For the Bookdragon who wins often enough that everyone else starts getting mildly annoyed when their name appears in another game. 😂 To earn Game Menace, rack up at least five qualifying wins within a single calendar month across Sassy’s Nook games, trivia, challenges, contests, or designated activities. Once you claim win number five before the month ends, congratulations: you are officially everybody else’s problem. Don’t blame us. The other Bookdragons named you.
🎁 I Won! — Lucky Winner
Everything you do around Sassy’s Nook can add up to more than badges and bragging rights—it can also give you chances to win something tangible. Meaningful qualifying participation earns points throughout the month, and each point equals one entry into that month’s special giveaway. If you earn 18 qualifying points, that means 18 entries.
At the end of the month, qualifying entries are placed into a computerized random prize wheel and fate takes it from there. More activity means more entries and therefore more chances, but every qualifying entry has a chance to win. The Bookdragon selected by the wheel receives that month’s tangible giveaway prize and earns a permanently dated Lucky Winner dragon for their collection.
Winning does not disqualify you from future giveaways. The next month starts fresh, previous winners can participate again, and yes—if the universe decides you’re ridiculously lucky, you can absolutely win another one. 😂🎡🐉
🥉 OG Member — Founding Member
For the Bookdragons who were here at the beginning, before we knew exactly how much chaos this place would eventually contain. OG Dragon is reserved for qualifying founding members of Sassy’s Nook and cannot be earned later. You were either there…or you weren’t. 😏
🎂 Happy Birthday
Members celebrating a birthday with us during 2026 can receive the special Happy Birthday 2026 dragon. To qualify, add your birthday month and day only to the designated field on your member profile. Do not enter your birth year—we neither need nor want it. 😂 Birthday information submitted through this field is private and visible only to Sassy; it simply lets me know when it’s time to award your birthday dragon. The badge stays permanently in your collection.
And these are only the dragons we know about right now. New badges may appear for seasonal events, special challenges, reading milestones, author events, ridiculous accomplishments, community achievements, or whatever other chaos we dream up later. There may even eventually be a few secret dragons whose requirements aren’t announced at all. 👀
Every badge should tell a little piece of your history here. Build your hoard. Read the books. Join the discussions. Make your theories. Prove them right. Survive the cliffhangers. Enable somebody’s next questionable book purchase. Play the games. Support your fellow Bookdragons. Cause a little chaos.
And once you earn your dragon, it becomes part of your story in the Nook. 🐉📚💜
